“God doesn’t bless who you pretend to be.”
I remember hearing a pastor say these words and I felt a check in my spirit. Although I considered myself to be a real, authentic person, it was something about what he said that made me stop and consider if what he was saying actually applied to me.
Once, I did some introspection I realized it did apply to me.
I wasn’t out here trying to be someone else, however I wasn’t fully showing up as the person God created me to be. I was shrinking back and playing it small because I didn’t want anyone to think I thought too highly of myself. I let the opinions of people keep me muzzled because I didn’t want to upset anyone. I also didn’t pursue certain things because I didn’t want to stand out too much.
Now it’s your turn to look within…
Have you been showing up as the woman God created you to be?
Maybe you are like I was, and you know that you aren’t living on the level God has called you to or maybe you’ve fallen into the comparison trap and have fooled yourself into believing that you have to do things like another woman does in order to be successful.
Regardless of where you may be struggling with showing up as the REAL you, I pray by the time you finish reading this that you will no longer struggle again.
“There are souls attached to your destiny.”
Hearing another pastor say those words was another eye-opening moment for me, because it emphasizes just how important we all are in God’s plans.
There is something that God wants to do specifically through you that will reach people and point them back to Him.
But if you are letting fear and the opinions of people keep you stuck then you’re not showing up fully as the person God has called you to be. God cares more about who we are becoming over what we are doing, but if you become all that He’s created you to be the doing should be a natural part of the process.
It’s called obedience. There’s no way you can play it small or copy others and think you’re walking in obedience. We are created in God’s image, fearfully, and wonderfully made. There’s nothing small or average about anyone of us.
I always like to think of it in this way: what if the people who have greatly impacted your life didn’t show up as their real selves and decided to either play it small or to just copy what they saw others do?
I can’t even imagine because all of the people who have impacted my life in a great way fully showed up as themselves and they didn’t care about being different from the crowd. This is what drew me to most of them because I admired how comfortable they were in who God created them to be.
There is someone right now waiting on the real version of you to show up.
They need that book God has put inside of you.
They need to know that how they raise their kids doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s way.
They need to know that a woman who went from one abusive relationship to the next can be found by a Godly man.
They need to know that someone who was once on food stamps can go on to be a financial blessing to others.
There should be no shame about your story or your personality. God gave you everything you need to accomplish His will for your life, and He’s allowed the things He has allowed because He knows that when you fully step into all He’s calling you to, lives will be transformed.
So, will the real you please stand up? The world is waiting for her!
